These four-axle hopper cars are part of the special car fleet of the Rhätische Bahn. Used to haul gravel, these yellow cars are destined primarily for the RhB’s maintenance trains. A few details differ from the other hopper cars. For example, the operator can mechanically adjust the amount of gravel dispensed as the train rolls along slowly. The new LGB model of the RhB hopper car is a prototypical model of this vehicle, which is so important for maintaining the tracks. The LGB model features four opening unloading doors.
